Whether you’re looking to lose weight, build muscle or tone up, there are so many fitness tips, tricks and how-tos you can follow to achieve these goals. So how do you figure out which are the right tips for you? To help you out we have created a list of fitness information to get you started.

Stick with it!

No matter what your goal is, when it comes to fitness consistency is key. If you are new to working out or find it hard to stay consistent it’s a good idea to schedule your workouts in, like an appointment. Another good tip is to plan your routines in advance. This way you wont waste time thinking about it while your working out and means you can keep track of your progress.

Drink Water!

It should go without saying that water is a very important part of training. You lose a lot of water throughout the day and when you workout, so it’s important to drink almost half your body weight in water (ounces). However everyone is different when it comes to how much water they need, so if your urine is clear then you should reduce how much you drink. Don’t just wait until you next feel thirsty, because by that time your body is already dehydrating.

Sleep!

Just like water, sleep plays a massive part in helping muscle development and general fitness recovery. By increasing your sleep from 4 - 6 hours to 7 - 9 you are allowing your body more recovery time.

You can’t out train a bad diet!

When you start exercising your diet it going to need to change, as your metabolism kick starts. If you’re trying to lose weight then you need to really plan your meals well so you don’t relapse into old habits. If you have a personal trainer, you have to remember that they aren’t dieticians, but they will have a great idea of how you can achieve the look you’re after. As you progress through your fitness goals your body will have different dietary needs, so you need to pay attention to what your body needs, not wants.

Keep Positive!

Achieving your fitness goals will take time, so you need to keep positive. You wont see results over night and it will take months of constant exercise and healthy eating before you start to really notice a big difference. Prepare yourself for set backs and celebrate the small achievements.
