CHEST ANATOMY

If you are doing strength exercise with the hope of achieving massive muscles or toning up then this is a must read. Understanding your anatomy and how your muscles respond to your exercises can greatly improve your workout technique and results.

Muscle Function

The chest is made up of two muscles, the pectoralis minor which is located underneath the pectoralis major. These muscles work together to make your chest function. Overall, these muscles start at the clavicle and insert at the humerous (armpit) and sternum.

These muscles help create these 3 different functions. Side arm pitching motion, the ability to move your arm up and down at your sides and the arm wresting motion. The best basic way to workout the chest muscles include bench press and flyes.

You should always be mindful to keep perfect form, because bad forms and habits that you form now will lead to lack of progress and injury. Remember to stretch before during and after your workouts.
